GETTING A SHELTER BED AT GRACE

If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness and is looking for emergency shelter, we are here to help. Due to the high volume of inquiries regarding getting a shelter bed, we are unable to respond to calls, voicemails, and emails. You must arrive in person to be assigned a shelter bed, we cannot reserve or hold beds.

When are shelter bed entries conducted?

Bed entries are conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis Monday through Friday at 8:00 am. Shelter bed availability changes each day and there is no guarantee a bed will be available.

How do I get a shelter bed?

The shelter bed sign-up sheet is placed in Building 1, by the front gate, at 7:00 am Monday through Friday. After putting your name on the list you must wait in the lobby of the Community Services Center (CSC) and wait to be called. If you are not present when your name is called, you will be moved to the bottom of the list.

Do I have to put my name on the bed sign-up sheet every day?

Yes. The bed sign-up sheet does not carry over to the following day. If you do not get a bed, you will need to show up at 8:00 am the next day to add your name to the list.

Can I reserve a shelter bed over the phone?

We do not take reservations for shelter beds. You must arrive in person at 7:00 am to put your name on the bed sign-up sheet.

Does GRACE Marketplace have a family shelter?

No, we only serve adults who are 18 years of age or older. If your family is experiencing homelessness we encourage you to reach out to St. Francis House, Family Promise of Gainesville, or call United Way 211.

Where is GRACE Marketplace located?

Our campus is located in NE Gainesville out by the Gainesville Regional Airport on east 39th Avenue. Our address is 3055 NE 28th Drive, Gainesville, FL 32609. We are on RTS bus routes 25A and 26.
