City Commissioners Serve Homeless And Hungry At GRACE Marketplace

The Gainesville City Commission hosted a community dinner at the GRACE Marketplace Wednesday night to address homelessness and hunger in the city.

More than a meal, Commissioner Craig Carter and the other members of the community wanted to provide an opportunity they wouldn’t normally have to start a dialogue with GRACE residents.

“We hope to help citizens of Gainesville understand that we’re not just out here throwing money at something. We’re actually coming out and investing our time, and spending some time at the GRACE Marketplace,” Carter said.

Our mission is simple: to end homelessness. We achieve that goal by removing the typical barriers that keep people from getting help and providing them with safe shelter, effective services, and permanent housing solutions.
